Shop Totally Texas for the Holidays!

Ready or not, here come the holidays! I found
some real treats to help get you and the family
in the proper festive spirit.
A Dickens Christmas in Lockhart
December 1

While I know everyone is chomping at the bit about Black Friday, I am actually looking more forward to Shop Small Saturday, November 24. It is a great time to ditch the big box crowds and head out to the 'hoods & 'burbs for some local flavor. Almost all the merchants will have special goodies and great prices for the occasion and they will be in a good mood as will you when you actually enjoy a leisurely shopping experience rather than running a foot race through it.

There is no shortage of Arts & Crafts shopping opportunities this time of year (just check my Event Calendar), but one of the first communities to light the Yule Log will be Lockhart, Texas with their annual Dickens Christmas on Saturday, December 1.  The festivities begin Friday night, November 30, with a Lighted Christmas Parade. The downtown businesses will stay open late both Friday and Saturday nights and I discovered a couple of local shops you will not want to miss. And don't forget to check out Totally Texas Gifts on Zazzle & Cafe Press. You can purchase something with a Totally Texas Holiday design or design your own personalized gift. Be sure to look for their promo codes on Totally Texas Gifts' Facebook page to save $$ on products and shipping. Happy Yule Y'all!
